Alas, my 'old' iMac mid-2007 and MBP 2010 does not support BLE4.0 - and as I understand the El Capitan does not support dongles. I can purchase dongles from Amazon (not all types available abroad), but there are some available locally. However, they are all intended for Win10, 8 and 7, or Linux. None for Mac. I leave it in my laptop and just put it in the bag with this end up. So I never forget it and never leave it at home. It has some issues with pairing but they can be worked around. The current theory for why pairing is at times an issue is that the Mac only supports a single Bluetooth controller. I guess that is why it is called a bluetooth and not a blueteeth device.
