In the past, I would select a picture or pictures in iPhoto. Then I would use the Share menu in iPhoto.

This also allowed me to adjust the size of a picture. With iPhoto, when I made Apple Mail my default email app, it would appear in the Share menu. With iPhoto, when I made Outlook my default app, it would also appear in the Share menu. With the new 'Photos' app, I can only get Apple Mail to appear in the Share menu. I prefer using Outlook.
